Brighter times  February 27th

My room’s a mess, we haven’t taken the trash and recycling out in weeks, I have a physics exam next week, but it’s all okay. I’m not worrying about these things, big or small, because I know I will be okay. I just have to do my best to do everything in a timely manner… including keeping the dorm clean. I… can’t walk from place to place. It’s a problem.

Anyway, my busy week is over, and my dashboard countdown is saying 6 days and 17 hours until Spring Break starts. This is incredible. Despite how quickly this semester has gone by, I am in desperate need of a break. I need to slow down for a bit, get some more rest, and enjoy myself with those I love most: Dan and my family. It seems like everyone is so much busier this semester, and with everyone stressed out all the time, I think we all need to chill out and relax for a week. I know I’m excited to relax at home. I have a lot of things planned already, mainly because we’re celebrating my birthday while I’m home, since it’s the week after break ends. Dan wants to do something special for me, but I’d really rather go out to dinner with everyone at once – him and my family. Surprisingly, my parents still haven’t tried the restaurant that Dan and I always go to, so I want them to come. With only a week of break, it’s hard to plan too much, but there is so much I want to do! I guess that’s what the summer is for. Only about… six weeks after break ends until this semester ends. Then I’ll be done with my first year of college! It’s crazy!

In other news, I am officially pledging for Alpha Chi Sigma (ΑΧΣ), the professional chemistry fraternity. It’s kind of a lot of work (well, not really, but there’s like… planning with others involved, and I am not much of a planner) in order to become a brother of the fraternity, but I’m having a lot of fun. I’ve met some really cool people, and I know that I’ll have a lot of fun in the future if I become part of the organization. Plus, my favorite professor is the faculty advisor for ΑΧΣ, which is awesome because he is so awesome. He’s like the nicest man ever, and he’s an awkward chemistry nerd, haha! What could be better than making connections with people with common interests and passions? I’m really excited about all the activities I have to do as a pledge, because I’m having a lot of fun. Have you joined an organization or started doing an activity that really changed your life or experience at school?

I would also like to thank everyone who responded to my survey about blogging. Your responses really helped me write my paper, and you shared some really great thoughts. Thank you for your enthusiastic participation! I really appreciate it.

Recent site updates include 1 new poem in the 2008-09 Writing section, a downloadable WordPress theme, and one article to the Miscellaneous Stuff section.

Aw well thanks for the layout compliment! I’ve centered it all… I think. Does it look fine? :)

lol my room is a mess, too. And the funny thing? I didn’t do any of it… Each time I clean up my room, my sister makes it a mess again. She throws all of my stuff every where. lol. And no, I’m not just blaming it on her. :P She is quite capable of making a mess!

Happy early birthday! :D I hope you get in to the fraternity. :)
I appreciate the education, too, just that sometimes the classes are soo boring in middle school, and they give way too much homework all the time.

Wow, you have a lot going on right now. I don’t fully understand the whole Alpha fraternity thing (it’s all greek to me :D ) but good luck for it! Doesn’t the year go by so quickly? It’s already 3 months into 2009. Crazy.

I simlply adore your premade layout and I’m really struggling not to download it right away! You made some awesome points in your article too, *favourites*.

Have a great spring break, and have an awesome time with Dan for your birthday!

This is exciting! Productive you are, and what’ so great about that is that you don’t seem stress. Amen to that! You get an early Spring break. Are is coming a bit later, but I’m using that to motivate me to get through the remaining days. Roughly about 12 weeks left of school. I’m excited :)

I hope you have a nice time and with your family and Dan. I also expect you to tell us about everything? Happy Early Birthday and have fun pledging.

I spent 2 hours Monday night cleaning the game room, and it needs cleaned again already! Ugh. I hate cleaning but when I don’t I can’t stand it. lol. I hope you enjoy your break when it comes. I need a break from…life. I’m ready for vacation. lol. I always have birthday lunch with the family then Ryan takes me out on my birthday, even if it’s during the week and he has to work. I like having a lunch with the family then Ryan and I getting to spend my birthday alone for the most part. I can’t believe you’re almost finished with yuor first year of college. I’ve been visiting your blog for so long I can remember when you were starting your senior year of high school. Gosh. Good luck with joining the fraternity! I hope you enjoy it a lot. I think it makes it better when the faculty advisor of the group/club you’re going to join is someone you like or admire. I started a lit/writing club and I had the help with the club from an English teacher who helped me out a lot through school. it was just fun to find others who went to the same school who enjoyed reading as well as writing. Our meetings we’d have cookies and something to drink and we’d talk about books as well as read some of our writing. I still need to get around to looking at WordPress and seeing if I want to use it. But then again I’m thinking about getting Cutenews back, I have it all downloaded I just need to find out what code I have to use for making a pop-up link.

I think that you are doing well despite the potential things that can stress you and all. Great job maintaining a positive attitude, because in the long run (I’ve learned) that it will keep you from reaching the breaking point. Take it easy :)
I can’t wait until spring break. I’m so excited to finally catch up on stuff I’ve been putting off. I hope you will be able to spend quality time with Dan and your family soon =)
Joining Alpha Chi Sigma is a big decision. I think that it will end up being a great experience for you. I joined Key Club in high school and I loved it, I enjoy volunteering and just getting involved with the community. I have joined PTK, which is a club at my college and I’m thinking of joining two more but I don’t know if I’ll have time to keep up will everything. Meeting new people is one of the benefits for joining an organization, I always look forward to that.
