The Light  September 24th

Audio Blog. If you don’t feel like reading, let me read to you.

The week of all bad things is essentially over; in that, I mean I am not concerned about any of my academic responsibilities that must be completed on Friday. Now I have reached the light at the end of the tunnel, and it turns out that all those bad things were not really that bad. In fact, one of those bad things, the result of Physical Chemistry Lab Quiz on Not Chemistry was, in context, rather acceptable. At face value, a 55% looks like my grade is in the toilet, but let’s remember here, the point is to stay ahead of the average, which was only 35%. Is it bad that most of us can’t even get half of the quiz right? Yeah, it is, but it’s not our fault. It really isn’t. But onto other matters…!

Now, what’s news? I noticed that I am listed under Best Blogger on Audiorush’s Blogger Awards, and that’s cool beans if you ask me. It’s nice to know that I am in some way entertaining to somebody here on the Internetz and that I am not just speaking nonsense in vain. And even if I was, I would still do it since clearly, I enjoy putting myself out there. So, thank you, anonymous person, for the nomination. You’re pretty cool, too; I’m sure.

Anywho, Nicole and I are in great need of shopping. I don’t mean clothes shopping, although that would be excellent fun, but I mean grocery shopping. We are somehow in need of everything ever. Last week we didn’t need anything; now we need everything. I guess our lack of preparation for future weeks has caused us to be plumb out of many basic necessities. Saturday will be a big shopping day for us. Now that Katy has her car, we and our other friend Rebecca are going to the mall (despite the fact that it would be foolish to spend our money on clothes and other such things), Target, and the supermarket. We need all kinds of things. Maybe we’ll even find a new mixer at a good price, and by “good price,” I mean one that is $30 or less – preferably less. Hopefully we’ll find one that lasts. I think the motor died on the one Nicole brought. That’s a problem.

I am also very excited for tonight, provided we get the necessary materials. You see, tonight is our first recruitment event for Alpha Chi Sigma, and what we plan to do is make ice cream! But we don’t make ice cream in any old traditional way; we use liquid nitrogen. What is liquid nitrogen? It is nitrogen, which is typically a gas (air is composed of mostly nitrogen), in liquid form, much like water or whatever other liquids you’re familiar with. In order to liquefy nitrogen, one cools it down to a very, very, very, very low temperature (like almost -200 degrees Celsius). That means it’s super duper cold, and we use it to cool down the ingredients of our ice cream to make it into the proper consistency, instead of a goopy mess of cream and vanilla. So, hopefully we were able to secure us some liquid nitrogen! Otherwise, I don’t know what we’ll do.

I hope that all of you, and you and you, are doing well, and that you do not have to endure lab quizzes of destruction or disorganized instructors or any other misfortunes, academic or personal.

Yeah, she was no fun at all. I’m amazed that you’re such a big fan of chemistry, cause I find it so hard. xD But I guess it’s just one of your natural strengths. Lucky you!

Thanks, I really hope I can start enjoying all this nomenclature, but I can’t see it happening. :P

Well, congrats on that 55% (never thought I’d say that) haha, but it’s really good compared to the 35% average. Dayum, that course must be really hard. O_O

Congrats on winning best blogger! :D You deserve it.

Hope you have a nice time shopping. I think that shopping for food is as fun if not more fun that shopping for clothes lmao.

That’s so cool that you get to make ice-cream using science. Or is it science? Lmao, I really fail at this kind of stuff. But I’m always available if you need someone to eat the ice-cream….

I had thought I commented you on this blog but I think I only read it before and forgot to comment you. Lol anyways, I thought the liquid nitrogen/ice cream sounds really neat! Is liquid nitrogen dry ice? I hope it comes out/came out awesome! And congrats on being nominated for best blogger! That’s pretty awesome, good luck to you :) And lastly, I’m glad that your friend has a car and is willing to drive her other friends around town. I remember reading your last blog about how you walked home from the supermarket and how disasterous that was, now I’m glad you don’t have to worry about that!
